For my sins, yes. Newport not being a big place and all that, and Carl
always seeming to get off with the same girls . . however, to add some
light to this, Richard Parfitt of the Dolls (not The Quo) was actually
in some mod band in the 80s (possibly a late line up of Nine Below Zero
or The Truth - I can't remember which). You also had The Blocked (who
were even more like The Jam and have been going in various forms since
'79), and the bass-player from Novocaine (shit bass player, but a great
DJ (soundtracks & soul) with nice line in suits and hair, which is how
he got in the band. In fact it's not hard to be asked to join a band in
Newport. . .
. . . and then there's the tale of Richie's love-child. . .
