A good bass player too, but despite that he was in heaavy rock band before
Weller drafted him into The Jam(not very mod - unless you do it the other
way round!).
After The Jam of course, Weller would have nothing to do with the "other
two" - being quoted as saying "the gravy train had left town..."
Who has sold more of his own solo material than all of the Jam stuff, and
who is in a punk "supergroup".
Mind you, Rick Buckler went off to start up a furniture shop...
