When these musicians attempted to make classical music with modern 
instruments (such as the electric guitar). . .
(and because they were obsessed with creating bombastic symphonies, 
centuries after the fact - it's funny that where rock met 'modern' 
classical music (Pierre Henry, Rhys Chatham, John Cale & Terry Riley, 
the Velvet Underground) the results have stood the test of time.
