I have to say Paul, you are not a complete fuckwit. The American Mods that
wish desperately to be English are rather a sad lot. To be an American is
nothing to be ashamed of, and yet many "Mods" I have run across seem to
think it is. I happen to be a son of Ex Pat parents, have seen both sides of
the coin, and can truly saw that each culture has its own merits. If a few
American "Mods" would open their eyes a bit they may learn to appreciate the
culture(s) that surround them.
Few other nations have the broad spectrum of cultural influences that
America does. A "melting pot"? Not at all, more of a buffet. Particularly
here in So Calif, if u dig Soul, go get it, a bit of Latin Jazz? Just as
much if not more. We are a culturally diverse Nation, that offers a truly
International experience. To keep pining over a trip to to London is
ridiculous. By all means go, have a bit of fun, but don't overlook what you
have here that you cannot get elsewhere. Sure, alot of American culture is
plastic, but we do not have to gobble it up when so much more is available
to us.

I believe that the UK as a whole is losing alot of its own culture thru
outside influence, cannot say as if that is a bad thing as I do not have to
deal with it on a daily basis. But just out of curiousity, how many curries
are sold in UK everday?

Everybody hates a tourist
