Man, hasn't the British culture conditioned your ass correctly. Time
to come correct..
>1. "The 'I wanna be English' Americans are the funniest of the lot..... I'm
>always meeting American 'mods' who tell me how much they hate America
and how much nicer it is to be in London.........."
Seriously how can you not expect these types of comments.. I even
made these comments when I was visiting London. Not because I had
this weird sensation to be British.. It was an expression and a
statement I came to after evaluating my life in America and comparing
it to a hypothetical life in England. Paul.. lets take a test and
see what we find out..
Why would John want to move to England
1. More people were probably shot within a 6 block radius of my house
in Brooklyn New york then of all of London last year.
2. A block from my house a women answered her door and was shot in
the face. A crack addict robbed her of like 100 dollars.. Did I
mention that I live in an area known for high rent and yuppies?
3. I haven't had sufficient health insurance for close to a year now.
4. We can go on and on..
>......... Nothing you can say will ever convince me that 'white American
>culture' deserves any merit whatsoever. Actions speak louder than words.
We deserve no merit.
Gosh how the hell did American Culture build the largest and
strongest economy and country in the world? Where did that Internet
start? How many musical acts have we given you.. Wait, what war did
thousands of Americans die in just to save your Island from invasion.
Who rebuilt London? (Cough ack cough.. thats a hard one to swallow I
know.. but come on.. our taxes in someway rebuilt your damn city.)
I mean I can understand bashing American culture.. Its just like a
bunch of employees at a firm bashing the CEO.. But fucking hell.. do
some homework and come to a realistic conclusion and not some stupid
ass, arrogant stick up your ass british assessment on how Everyone
wants to be BRITISH.
You consume our products, consume our music, consume our
entertainment, consume our movies, and ultimately consume our culture
every waking days of your lives.
You really give more credit to yourself and how cool you think your
culture is rather then the real world concerns of people who are
actually living in America who deal with all the shit that comes with
being in america every day.
I think the main reason why many American's get caught up in
Anglophilism.. (me being a perfect example) is that we have visited
Europe and England. We feel as though your lifestyle is much more
relaxing and fun then our native life styles. After all we work
longer hours then most of Europe and studies who we tend to be a lot
more stressed out then you. We try to bring back the influences of
Europe to America in order to enjoy living in America more then we
did prior to visiting Europe.
I guess all I ask for is a realistic approach to this question and
not such a cunt like "We are so cool you all want to be us. you are
so dumb" answers everyone seems to give right away..
I don't speak for all Amerians but thats just how I feel..
