Stop listening to the hype on the local news, ok? Pick any country and 
go there. The US still has the cheapest oil prices on the planet, and 
always will.

What makes you think that British politics are any different? Watch the 
House of Commons on CSpan sometime, it's just as ineffectual as our 
Congress. Petty bickering between two factions...so the UK has more than 
two parties, when's the last time they had a Liberal Democrat as PM? 
We've got tons of other parties here, as well. Join one. It might help.

Oh my. I think that if you look a little bit harder you'll see a lot of 
exceptions in both cases.
