this is a general response
one exhibit was basically a big
string of lightbulbs -
that was felix gonzalez-torres. the idea behind that piece is that he gives
the gallery a specific number of bulbs to put in a line, and they can
fullfill that any way they choose.
Is it possible to take an
opinion seriously if someone chooses a daft name for themselves?-
i think thats rude. sorry, but i get a lot of that and truthfully its nothing
like what it sounds like. Its the name of a performance art collective from
the late ninties working around capitalist themes.
Is it possible mod might not equal modernism?-
i guess you'll have to innagurate me on that one. you constantly make claims
left and right to being attached to the modernist period of the 20th century.
i guess i was wrong, and your reply to that of course will be i was.
'why are you all stuck in the 60s' line, why not
break with tradition and start promoting the great new things you
believe in - it's a far better way to convert people than having a go at
them.-
Truthfully if i came across as making any type of attack on anyone or
anything(looking back it could be misconstrued that way), i am sorry. I just
got a little hung up on some conflicting ideals. and i did, i sent a letter
about checking out the conceptual movemnet as a whole, then if interested i
suppose the many tributaries. Hey i'm sorry if i am being a jerk and my name
isn't appreciated. i will just sit back and continue reading e-mails about
nifty cds, and events in great cities.
