A number of years ago, a friend of mine found this book at the local Public
Library, called "Cool Cats: 25 Years of Rock & Roll Style". It was a British
book, basically about how rock and roll had affected style. There a chapter
on Teds, a chapter on Mods, one on Punks, one on Glam, etc. Anyways, sounds
a lot like the book you came across. Perhaps a new edition?
Oh yeah, I actually also happened upon a corresponding video for it at a
local video store. It talked about all the styles, though mostly dwelled on
mods and rockers. They interviewed all the members of the Who, Malcolm
McClaren, Paul Weller, and others. Of course, the video store is now long
gone, squeezed out by Blockbuster, and such. Anyone else ever see this
stuff?
