I honestly think most people on the scene ARE 'all-encompassing', just maybe
they lean more one way or the other. It's just the people at the extremes
who have something to say about it (and know more about their subjects,
which always makes an opinion seem stronger than 'I don't know much about
it, can't we all get along?'). There were plenty of beat kids dancing to a
relatively (for the reputation the New U's get) r'n'b/soul oriented set at
Scarborough on Sunday. Maybe they were taking the piss, maybe they were
enjoying the music, but they were definitely dancing.
