Astrid,
Sam Cooke was shot to death by the female manager of a hotel in Los Angeles
where he was staying on Dec. 11, 1964. The manager shot Cooke to prevent
him from raping a female guest. At least that was the story given out. Lots
of people don't buy it. There's plenty out there on the web about it.
