"This is quite true. I've always done the same. Didn't the original mods and
those that went after, do the same. Pick the best of everything, to suit
your individual tastes and needs. These sort of things vary from country to
country and state to state (or county to county). If some one or group pick
up on the same thing, you're in luck. Why walk around solely listening to'79
revival stuff etc.? That elitism....And there's no place for it in mod. What
has struck me is the variences in age and tastes. So let's stop the feudin'
and the fightin' and come and give your pa a big hug."

Yes! Thats exactly the point I would make..it's like preferring all black
suits and you walk past a perfect suit but it's blue tonic and not black so
you won't where it. The more narrow your focus the more you miss out on the
good stuff. This is no to say that there should be no elitism..rather it
should be a personalized elitism let what you know and love lead you to knew
stuff you might enjoy. For example like when I turned on to the Stones and
the Creation it started a interest in indie bands like John Spencer Blues
explosion, Blur, and many more bands. And the reverse with Jazz..my fondness
for Acid Jazz/Trip Hop led me to Jimmy Smith, Herbie Handcock and Miles
Davis..so relax, let Mod be an outlet to express yourself with style and
passion, that is what makes the scene vibrant and fun, this list as well,
right?

Loving my Newcastle and vegetarian limpwristed popstars as well!
