It's not that the Mods book is "out-of-print", it that the book is published
by a small company that prints the book in small runs. A company that
Ingram, who is Amazon's main book distributor, doesn't stock on a regular
basis. Amazon back-ordered you because they had to wait for the next batch
to be printed.
Let's be honest the "Mods" book is not the Bible or even a Stephen King
novel, the demand for that book doesn't keep presses going 24/7/365. Sure,
Amazon will get the latest Harry Potter story to you the next day, but
patience is required for the more unique titles (for example it took them
three months to source "Motorcycle Electrics Without Pain" for me).
