I've been lamenting on this whole idea that the music I like, the style I carry,
scooting about, ect... well, it isnt modern at all. If there have been like 6,000 mod
revivals, it isnt really so modern anymore. We're not about to hear the newest jam
from smokey and the miracles on the local radio station... modern now means boy bands,
rap-rock, blink182, and snowboards... shit I hate. Ecstacy and Prozac have replaced
good ole whites and weed. So I guess "mods" of today would have to be the kids WHO buy
into that. I still like what I like, be it 60's Tamla records, having wickedly cool
hair and rocking my ass off to the MC5; it's just hard to think of it as modernism.
Are we all out of touch with the spirit of youth? Are we old people in young bodies?
God, it's confusing. Maybe a good riot and some buttrockers to beat up would make it
all better.
