just because something's mainstream dosen't mean it's what defines the current
youth-craze. oscar wilde said 'whatever is popular is wrong', and he made quite a
strong point there [concidering what's 'popular' today].
much has happening in music and style for this generation. listen to broadcast,
komeda, venini, belle and sebastian, suede or ladytron- that's today's modern-sound.
mod isn't all image- it's a philophosy, a way of living for the time. what worked
then, though still revelant today, isn't totally characteristic of this generation.
a-lot's happened in 40years; we've a-lot ot work from. i don't know, for people that
call themselves modernists they seem to be a pretty pasay lot.
