When I first got into the mod/60s scene (about 5 years ago) I had my hair in a very
dark brown,
almost black but not quite, cheek-length bob (which was dyed from my natural colour),
either
without a fringe or with a graduated long one worn to the side. Then it gradually
became longer
and lighter, progressing through to the present day, where it is blonde, an inch or
two longer than
shoulder length, with a fringe (think Marianne Faithfull / Julie Christie)!
I did occasionally wear a wig a couple of years ago and that was a chin-length bob in a
sandy/dark-blonde colour!
