Full_Name: jay ball Version: 2.2.2 OS: solaris 2.5.1 Submission from: dow.invengen.com (209.211.69.66) with my config file having the alias: Alias /bugzilla "/1/bugzilla/prod/" using non-ssl http to fetch the file, i get: bash$ telnet doh 8080 GET /bugzilla HTTP/1.0 .... HTTP/1.1 301 Moved Permanently Date: Mon, 15 Feb 1999 22:55:29 GMT Server: Apache/1.3.4 (Unix) mod_ssl/2.2.2 SSLeay/0.9.0b Location: http://doh.invengen.com:8080/bugzilla/ Connection: close Content-Type: text/html ....html text.... s_client does work and does produce a similar redirect as above: bash$ /usr/local/ssl090b/bin/s_client -connect doh:8443 -state ....lots of debugging info .... GET /bugzilla HTTP/1.0 HTTP/1.1 301 Moved Permanently Date: Mon, 15 Feb 1999 23:22:48 GMT Server: Apache/1.3.4 (Unix) mod_ssl/2.2.2 SSLeay/0.9.0b Location: https://bic.invengen.com:8443/bugzilla/ Connection: close Content-Type: text/html ....html text.... read:errno=0 SSL3 alert write:warning:close notify doing this on netscape produces the correct results, ie, it does the redirect to bugzilla/ and then apache sends the index.html as it should. the problem comes out when i try this with ssl, it does not work. netscape 4.5 sparc/solaris and ie4.0 ("built-in" to win98) both produce an error. netscape gives the error: "A network error occured while netscape was recieving data. (network erro: i/o error). Try connect again." ie tells you: "Internet exploder cannot option the internet site https://doh:8443/bugzilla. A connection with the server could not be established." if this is a bug in netscape or ie (since s_client appears to work), apache has worked about bugs in browsers in wide distribution in the past. the "mozilla/2 nokeepalive" flag has been in the config file for years. all disclaimers apply: i couldn't for a reference for 'redir' on bug search or in the faq, so i posted a new bug. ______________________________________________________________________ Apache Interface to SSLeay (mod_ssl) www.engelschall.com/sw/mod_ssl/ Official Support Mailing List [EMAIL PROTECTED] Automated List Manager [EMAIL PROTECTED]
