Here's my situation:

I ran standard apache 1.3.3, installed via RPM on my RedHat 5.2
installation.

I added mod_perl, and mod_PHP3 to it.

Everything works.

I decide to install apache-mod_ssl-1.3.4-2.2.3-0.i386.rpm, from the
engelschall site.

In order to do this 'by the book', I removed mod_perl, and apache using
rpm -e.

Then, I install apache-mod_ssl-1.3.4-2.2.3-0.i386.rpm, followed by
mod_perl-1.17.i38.rpm.

I add the relevant lines in the httpd.conf file, to point to the proper
mod_perl module.

I restart apache, and here's what I get:

Starting httpd: httpd Syntax error on line 237 of
/etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf:
API module structure `perl_module' in file /usr/lib/apache/libperl.so is
garbled - perhaps this is not an Apache module DSO?

Fos some reason, the apache+mod_SSL rpm *MUST* be doing something
non-standard versus the standard RedHat install, as no matter what I try,
I can't get this work, and it works perfectly well if I simply return to
my prior installation of 1.3.3.

I'd really appreciate any help, as I would obviously like to run mod_SSL,
but also need mod_perl and mod_PHP3 installed and running.
