Hello,
I am trying to get my Mod-SSL'd Apache to do the "Netscape
Communicator 4.5 Roam" thing, and it is a royal pain.
After setting it up via the instructions at
http://www.burlco.lib.nj.us/tutorial/roam/ I found that it still doesn't
work well over unreliable (modem, in my case) connections (noisy lines
at times).
So to avoid losing our profiles, I've decided to wade into LDAP.
The Netscape doc at
http://help.netscape.com/products/client/communicator/manual_roaming2.html
also basically convinces me that LDAP is the way to go.
So I guess my question is . . . does this run separately, or is
there a module for Apache to handle this? Forgive the "newbieness" of
this question, but I understand it's another protocol, just not how to
get it running on our server.
I am running a RH Linux 5.1 box, so any pointers on what version to
get (and how to install same) are much appreciated.
Best, John.
