(Please forgive me, if this is the wrong way to follow up on a bug report,
but I didn't get your followup R.S.E. through email, but had to look it up
on the http://www.engelschall.com/sw/mod_ssl/bugdb page).

So I did as you told me:

> So please pause for breath a few minutes, then start from scratch and
> follow exactly the INSTALL steps.

and even took a sleep in between to give my brain some relief. Then I
followed >exactly< the INSTALL document. But the result is was the same:

tpo:/root/clean_inst/apache_1.3.3 # make certificate

Since you were wondering if there maybe was a conflict in the ssl
libraries, I removed >all< of them (rm `locate libssl; locate
libcryp`) and went through the whole thing >again<. This time it worked.

So thanks a lot, especially for this:

> So please pause for breath a few minutes, ...

A night of sleep did it.

> ... then start from scratch and follow exactly the INSTALL steps.

Many thanks!
