Is the problem already solved or is it still present?
If it's still present I've no clue why it fails this way.
But perhaps you can retry the new mkcert.sh stuff
from mod_ssl 2.0.10: There the signing is done
differently (via "ssleay x509" instead of "ssleay ca")
and all my test certs I created with "make certificate"
(which internally runs mkcerts.sh) worked fine.
So, please try this again and give feedback whether
it now works for you or not.
