Trying to make OpenSSL 0.9.2b per instructions with Mod_SSL
2.2.7-1.3.6 for Apache 1.3.6, an error message at the end of
"make test" says:
cmp: EOF on ./p. idea-ecb.clear
make [1]: ***[test_enc] Error1
make: *** {tests] Error 2
I've configured with the standard gcc that comes with Linux
Debian Slink (gcc 2.91.63-1.1 ). I configured according to
install
directions in the mod-ssl package, as follows:
make -f Makefile.ssl links
perl ./Configure linux-elf -DNO_IDEA
make
make test
When, however, I configured according to the basic OpenSSL
install instructions, the test succeeds with no errors:
perl ./Configure linux-elf
make
make rehash
make test
I have no idea what -DNO_IDEA does, and haven't found anything on
the website and mailing list archives that would give me a clue.
When I try to make mod-ssl and build everything according to the
example instructions on the website
(http://www.engelschall.com/sw/mod_ssl/example), everything
builds with no error signs, although I am unable to connect to
the SSL server (https://my.website.com). I do have show several
"...httpd --DSSL " when I run ps ax
Thanks to anyone for some clues.
Jeff Hill
P.S. I'm making openssl on a new, clean install of Linux Debian
Slink (v. 2.0.36) with perl 5.004.04-7 on a PII Celeron 266Mhz,
64MB RAM
