There is no dedicated user support mailing list for Apache, but when you ask
your Apache questions in _short_ and _precise_ way on
comp.infosystems.www.servers.unix I'm sure you get a reasonable follow-up.
When not it's usually mainly caused by the way of asking.... ;-)

AFAIK the Digest Authentication standard Apache's mod_digest currently
implements is an old one and not supported by MSIE. Use Basic Auth instead
which should work fine.

Check your configuration. Seems like you've enabled mod_proxy. Except when
www.somehost.com is an alias for your local host. Then it's ok.
