Good Afternoon,

Well, in typical fashion, it appears my problems were directly a result
of me simply not opening my eyes. I had made changes to the httpd.conf
file prior to installing the SSL stuff and after recompiling everything
the information I needed was placed into the
/usr/local/apache/conf/httpd.conf.default.

So, I was unaware the there was necessary information in this new
httpd.conf.default
file which was necessary to get the SSL stuff working. After renaming the
files and making the necessary changes to servername in the httpd.conf file
I was happy. When I did the "./apachectl startssl" command I got the
prompt for a password for the SSL encryption and that was that!

Everything worked just great after that!

So, be warned... don't be stupid like me! :)

Hope that someone can close this now because I cant... guess I forgot to
register and I was logged as guest.

Thanks again.
