Configuration: Apache 1.3.6, mod_ssl 2.2.8 and openssl 0.9.2b on Linux RH
5.1
I found some postings in the mod_ssl archive regarding keep alives and IE 4
returning error message
"server returned an invalid or unrecognized response".
when connecting via HTTPS. I don't know if this is supposed to be resolved
or if this is the same problem:
I intermittently get the above error message when using IE 4 SP1 to connect
via HTTPS, sometimes when posting data, sometimes when simply following
HTTPS links with parameter passing in the URL (in form
"some.cgi?someparam=somevalue"), possibly it does not matter anyway. The
error is not planfully re-producable but it happens quite often.
Maybe I didn't try long enough, but I couldn't get NetScape 4.05 to
generate an error.
Does anyone know if I there is something in the apache logs I could check
to clarify the situation?
I recently upgraded from Apache 1.3.4, mod_ssl_2.2.5, SSLeay0.9.0b, which
was fine.
Any help is appreciated
Juergen
