I know this is a stupid question, but what the heck: why haven't you used
another browser flavour and/or generation/major version/whatever?
Another shotgun blast into the dark: the browser errors, are they being sent
by the web server? If it's the browser, I'd hate to think that Netscape
3.x's cipher libraries (is this the US or is it the crippled export one?)
are dodo.
Pistol shot into the dark: Have you tried other key sizes? I don't know why,
but when I installed Apache-SSL a few days ago, I could only generate a test
certificate with genkey and req that was 512-bit. All subsequent key
generation sessions 1024, 2048, 4096 (noting that Apache-SSL says only try
512 and 1024), even 512-bit, didn't work.
Last poke in the dark: sounds like the server's buggered, I'd say this one's
more likely by the sounds of the errors...
Jonathan. :)
