My setup is that I have a Cisco LocalDirector, which load balances to a
bunch of machines, and each of these machines mount their /usr/locals to a
common fileserver. I have a sticky bit set in the LocalDirector to keep a
user session tied to one of my internal machines for 30 minutes. I use the
same httpd.conf file for all the machines, and I set everything specific to
the machine (access/error_logs, httpd.pid, ssl_mutex, etc.) to /logs on
each machine, which is actually nfs mounted to our file server to a
directory specific to each machine. They all share the same certificate
without difficulty, which is under /usr/local/apache/conf/ssl...
Seems to work like a charm.
