For those of you with a Hotmail account, you may have noticed that it
makes a quick secure transaction when you log in--presumably it's
passing your password through an SSL connection. Well, I hopped on over
to Netcraft (www.netcraft.com) and discovered that Hotmail is running
mod_ssl. How's that for notoriety? Most people probably realize this,
but Microsoft runs Hotmail. They've owned it for quite awhile--plenty
of time to come up with their own product to run the service with.
