The speed seems fine, both servers are on the same machine - it probably
adds some latency to the connection but not much, we have an Intranet
receiving 50k hits a day and noone complains :) We implemented it for
different reasons, the unix admins wouldn't let us have root access to start
the daemon on port 80, so we built a simple proxy and dont have to bother
them every 5 minutes as our daemons run on port 8080
