Full_Name: Anthony
Version: mod_ssl-2.4.2-1.3.9
OS: linux redhat 6
Submission from: adsl-63-193-146-113.dsl.lsan03.pacbell.net (63.193.146.113)

when I ./configure mod_ssl, things work fine until:

Configuring for Apache, Version 1.3.9
+ using installation path layout: Apache (config.layout)
Creating Makefile
Creating Configuration.apaci in src

and then:

Error: Cannot find SSL binaries under /usr/local/apache/openssl-0.9.4

things continue:

Creating Makefile in src
 + configured for Linux platform
+ setting C compiler to gcc
 + setting C pre-processor to gcc -E
+ checking for system header files
 + adding selected modules
    o ssl_module uses ConfigStart/End
      + SSL interface: mod_ssl/2.4.2
+ SSL interface build type: OBJ
      + SSL interface compatibility: enabled
+ SSL interface experimental code: disabled
+ SSL interface vendor extensions: disabled
+ SSL interface plugin: Vendor DBM (libndbm)
      + SSL library path: /usr/local/apache/openssl-0.9.4

and then end with:

./configure:Error: APACI failed

I have tried simplifying the openssl config and make clean, and have tried
configure of mod_ssl with various options down to the minimum all with the same
end result.

I cannot continue because when I try to make apache I get:

===> src
make[1]: Entering directory `/usr/local/apache/apache_1.3.9'
make[2]: Entering directory `/usr/local/apache/apache_1.3.9/src'
make[2]: *** No rule to make target `all'. Stop.
make[2]: Leaving directory `/usr/local/apache/apache_1.3.9/src'
make[1]: *** [build-std] Error 2
make[1]: Leaving directory `/usr/local/apache/apache_1.3.9'
make: *** [build] Error 2

any insight here???????
