It should work just fine with *both* enabled in the configuration.
Mine's set up that way. I happen to use MM instead of SDBM anyway,
since it's faster, but having both in is just fine. Hint, though: as
long as you don't *use* a DBM session cache, it's okay to have a broken
DBM library compiled in. It won't hurt anything unless you use it at
runtime. Actually, that's how I tracked down the problem in the first
place... as an experiment, I switched the SSLSessionCache to off in the
httpd.conf and it magically worked. Obviously, you don't *want* to run
a production SSL-enabled server with no session cache-- it's *way* slow.
MM is the way to go... don't worry about which DBM library you use as
long as MM works.
