Thanks very much, Ralf. I should've thought to check the Makefile for
various clean directives, but I'm still rusty on my Unix installation
skills, and I forgot. I'm sure its exactly as you said about messing up
my source tree. Sure enough, after properly cleaning up and then
remaking everything, it now works fine!
