Currently I am running two versions of apache simultanously on the same
machine one is Apache+mod_ssl+mod_jserv and listens on port 443, the other
is a bare bones apache that listens on port 80. I set it up this way
because I assumed the first version of Apache would be far more resource
intensive and since only a small percentage of the connections need ssl and
jserv it seemed wise to have two versions. At the moment they are two
completely different installs with different document roots etc.

Am I correct in my assumption? or would I see the same performance if I
jsut ran the first version of Apache and had it handle all the requests?

As you may have surmised I'm quite the newbie, I don't claim to have read
all the documentation, but I've read a lot of it and I didn't see where this
was addressed.

Your wisdom on this matter is appreciated....
