Then the subject for this message should really be:
Security Hole in browsers.
pegging mod-ssl with this is a bit unfair to mod-ssl. (IMHO)

I'm a Linux user so pardon my ignorance but how could someone log off a pc
without having having to quit the browser. Unix window managers can save
state but even they just quit and restart applications.
