Apache MOD_SSL and OpenSSL Error

Trying to install Solaris 2.7 with Apache 1.3.12 and latest OpenSSL and MOD_SSL   All the packages (IE: OpenSSL, Apache, and MOD_SSL) compile with no errors.   The make certificate command works fine.     The error:   The server dies on startup with the error_log stating that MOD_SSL can not generate the Temp. 512bit RSA private key.   Is there a quick fix?
