When the Certificate Import Wizard comes up, it does not show any option in the File Filter drop down pertaining to *.p12 (One releveant filter it shows is *.pk7b). Additionally, I have tried the same thing on IE 4.0 & 5.0 with the same result (Invalid Input Information) ,though Netscape works fine. So it is reasonable to say IE has some major probs with importing PKCS certs. Try blasting them with this issue on their website (Probably in the MSIE feedback section somewhere if they have it :).
