True of any list. But on the other hand, I personally find that the 
discussions on technical lists such as this one are FAR more comprehensible 
than nearly any manual or FAQ out there, even when they apply to more 
obvious problems.  In reality, there are a lot of levels of users out 
there, and sometimes it takes someone explaining something in a way the 
manual doesn't in order to understand it. Even if it's easy. We all start 
out knowing nothing about every topic.

OTOH I find searching list archives & deja answers nearly every technical 
question I have.  STFA (Search The Fabulous Archives) would probably be a 
more appropriate acronym for the most oft-repeated questions ;-)

Anyway, my two cents, is that people should learn to use the power of the 
searchable archive first and foremost if they can't understand the FM. 
Then, ask a question.
