I do not think this is an aspect concerning the USA, wether or not one
should support requests form the "bad geeks".
I work for a security-company in Germany and our software underlies the
office for foreign affairs export restrictions on export of sensiteve
material, as does every
business dealing withe "sensitive" goods. Therefore I would from work
follow what
the copmpanyprofile tells me. The boss says no support!!! The office for
foreign affairs tells the company
no deals, no support for the "bad". The NATO tells the office of foreign
affairs: "these are per definition..(._OUR_
definition) "the bad ones", i.e. no business, no support!!!. Well who
tells NATO then????
Propably we are going in circles here.

mod-ssl is OpenSource as is Apache and Open-SSL, and the have allways
been it.
My very own _personal_ opinion to the whole aspect is:
When everyone can get it, and the "bad" obviously have got computers,
propably they even have programmers able to read c-code
Take that!?! So ...DO THEY THINK THEMSELVES???
This is paranoia.
If our student neighbour Ibn-el-bad-guy with e-mail address
[EMAIL PROTECTED] asks the "bad" question, and
sends his supports per mail or snail-mail to "bad_land", who the heck
will ever know.
I have cleared this issue with my bosses, if adresses are obvious => no
support concerning security issues, i.e. mod-ssl in this case.
( still almost newbie though :), but this is a discussion of principles;
I might get sly sometime like Mads and other "gods" of Apache. )
Not wanting the company ( my granters of bread and butter ) to get into
deep shit so I will follow the company profile, which follows.........
Well all you geeks at home ("private heads"), make it up with your
hopefully present and aware conscience.
