(We're using 0.9.6 but neither !EXPORT56 nor !EXP56 seemed to make a difference with 
our 
clients IE 5.0 problems.)

The docs on modssl.org state EXP56 (and EXP40) as the flag in the CipherSuite 
reference 
section:

so we, and others like Eric, were assuming the !EXPORT56 was a typo.
(The mod_ssl source doesn't use the string EXPORT56 but OpenSSL 0.9.6 does of course, 
which in our case added to the confusion.)

Could you clear this one up for the record please because I've now seen several 
messages on 
various lists that indicate their authors have the same interpretation/confusion as 
ourselves.
