We have used modssl
and openssl to create our SSL connection. We generated a self signed
certificate (Since all we wanted to do was secure the channel). It works
great on Explorer 5 and above. We have about 4,000 users that have not
been upgraded and they use version 4.01. When you hit the site with those
browsers, I get an error message saying there is no support for this type of
secure channel. I am not really sure what is going on and would appreciate
any help, cryptography is my weak spot.
