We have been using a wildcard certificate here for some time, so far without
any complaints. What I suggest you do is create a test wildcard certificate
via the Thawte site and try that out for yourself before spending any money
(or making any mistakes). Basically there's no difference from a normal
certificate, except that some versions of IE won't let you connect to sites
that use them (I believe). Remember that you'll need an IP address for each
standard SSL server.
