Does the openssl.cnf file have anything to do with the actual start-up
of apache.exe?? I copied the file Dave sent me into the file that was on
my machine(the other file was not generating my csr). Now that my
certificate is installed and I set the sslcertificatefile directives,
apache won't start. It is setup as a service on W2000, and won't start
up even if I reboot.

Jay,

Very good! I don't recall the .RND file or pass phrase
details. Deleting the pass phrase is optional, but I
don't know what the issues are. I just followed the
instructions, it worked, I was happy.

The instructions have the file being named .CERT I noticed
that if I name them .CER then I can click on them from
Windows in a GUI tool. Obviously the name used in the
Apache config file needs to also change.
