Hi,

Just brought up a freshly installed FreeBSD box (4.3 RELEASE), and tried
to install Apache 1.3.19 and modssl 2.8.2 on it.

All attempts have so far ended in a core dump on startup. So far the
various things I've tried in all combinations are:

-with/without mm
-with system openssl and with openssl 0.9.6a
-static module and shared module

I then decided to try the "port" (maintained by Mr. Engelschall) thinking
that I must be doing something horribly wrong, and same result, immediate
coredump.

I'm guessing this must be due to something introduced in the 4.3 release
of FreeBSD... Here's the ssl version of the base system:

OpenSSL> version
OpenSSL 0.9.6 24 Sep 2000

Any ideas?

I'm not too handy with gdb, but can follow directions to build with
debugging symbols and whatnot...

Thanks,

Charles
