Hi All
I am trying to achieve the following.
I have a site that uses SSL on port 443 (SSL)
I.e https://......
When the user accesses the https address the padlock in "on" and the
use is challenged for a login and password in the usual way, as required
by
Directory lines in httpd.conf.
http:// is bridged to https:// via a bridging page so uses who go to http
are diverted to the same site on https (port 443).
What I want it for ALL future references to the SAME site, but on port 80
to be accepted because of the "previous" and therefore, existing
"successful" authentication on
port 80.
I.e authentication via port 443 leads to auto-authentication on port 80.
I cannot simply leave port 80 not requiring authentication because that
leaves it wide open.
Any idea how to do this in httpd.conf would be appreciated.
I'm still experimenting.
regards
Rick
