Cool, thanks! Very good description of the need for this statement and the errors it might invovle if certain proceedures are taken to restart httpd and such. I guess the issue has never surfaced here as I have a totally different proceedure for doing restarts after archiving logs and such, but, it has enlightened me enough to go fix all my conf files should someone need to replace me and invoke other means to the end.
