It only doesn't need disambiguation if you are able to intuit it.

We're writing a data specification here, you don't make the format
more complex to save typing a character just because you can intuit
the missing information.

If something is defined as a v, make it's use force. Don't imply the
existance of a v just because there's no other possible solution from
the non-v parsing options.
