John, I know you were hoping I'd get that patch in there. I didn't forget -- I was focused instead on getting as many of the long-outstanding, simple bugs fixed as possible. As there are no bug reports relating to version-0.76 as bundled with Module::Build, my opinion is that 0.77 is a nice-to-have feature, not a must have. Frankly, I'm a little uncomfortable putting 0.77 into M::B when it hasn't been released and tested on it's own, particularly as my goal for M::B 0.34 is to have it go into 5.10.1-to-be. It doesn't make sense to me for M::B to bundle a core module that isn't in core. What are you blocking on getting it to work for 5.10.0? Maybe I (or others) can help you out there and get 0.77 released to CPAN. Once it's out, I'm happy to install it, find all distributions that "use version" and smoke test them. That's probably a 24 hour job or less. -- David
