Lewis,

To be honest, I cannot remember. I don't think I did. I was running into
issues with Access (db growing too big...see related post about mdf getting
so large) and quickly just got MS SQL going to get out of a bind.

I "think" it will work, but again, not supported by Vircom.

Rick

I did the dummy domain trick myself - and I use Optigold too. However, I am
using the extended database format.

On a related question have you tried using MySQL for the quarantine with any
luck? If I could move it to MySQL I would move the primary authentication
DSN to MySQL also and shut down MS-SQL completely. Thanks, Lewis

Rick,

Vircom's answer is going to be that they do not support mySQL. But, I am
using it for mail and RADIUS authentcation. The problem I had when using
mySQL with my bookkeeping system (Optigold) was that it would not insert a
null record in the domain field for the mail. I am not using the extended
db, just a generic one. To get around this, I had to move my "default" mail
domain to another domain and create a dummy default domain. That way I could
insert a domain name into the db records. If the field was blank, not null,
users could not log in to the mail.

Good luck,
Rick

Hi Rick,
I know this doesn't help you find the problem but I can tell you that I use
MySQL as the backup DB for pop3 authentication. Thanks. Lewis
