What version of MySQL are you running? Also, what version of the MyODBC driver?
I don't really have any ideas at this stage, but I'm quite keen to see it work with MySQL myself...
Now that spam is no longer a major issue, I should have some time to setup a test system and try getting Modus to talk to a MySQL or PostgreSQL server.
Thanks, Lapo

Hello,
When we tried to test the Quarantine with MySQL Modus would not even
recognize the connection to MySQL. It just complained about the connection
settings. I double checked the connection settings and still no luck. We
restarted the modusadm service several times with the same results. Here's
the log
---- MODUSADM log entry made at 11/12/2003 10:32:28 Mail Store error [0xE00E03E9]: ---- MODUSADM log entry made at 11/12/2003 10:32:58 Mail Store error [0xE00E0032]: ---- MODUSADM log entry made at 11/12/2003 10:32:58 Mail Store error [0xE00E03E9]: ---- MODUSADM log entry made at 11/12/2003 10:32:58 Mail Store error [0xE00E03E9]:
Any help with be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Lewis

Cascading Integrity is the only thing holding you back, and if the latest version does include this ability it shouldn't be a problem. I think the main reason is that Vircom only issues a delete from one off the tables and expects the records to be removed from both.
Also, someone on this list wrote some triggers for MS SQL 7.0 to
accomplish the same thing and this might be possible with MySQL (I'm not
sure if MySQL supports Triggers).

Also, MySQL 4.0.16 (latest production release) has foreign key capability which allows cascading deletes. So is there anything else? If not then perhaps there will not be any other potential problems. Thanks, Lewis

I have a question regarding the Quarantine and MySQL. Can someone:-) please explain what functionality is needed that may keep MySQLfrombeing used. Also, I remember one of the issues being cascadingdeletions( cascading referential integrity constraints ). Is this the only potential problem that is known or are there others as well? I amabout totest on a development machine but I would like to use any current knowledge already established. Thanks. Lewis
