Hi Suneel,
I'm so glad you asked :-) Below is a copy from the MySQL query log when
Modus attempts to connect.

031114 11:01:35 27 Connect [EMAIL PROTECTED] on Vircom
       27 Field List TBLMSGCATALOG
       27 Quit

While this is happening Modus gives a cannot connect to the database
error. Hmm, I think it's connecting just fine but Modus is not getting the
response it's looking for so it fails.

I would really like to see it work and technically based on what we have
discussed it should be able to work but some it looks as if some
preliminary checking done by Modus may keep this from happening unless
it's process is changed. Also, it appears that Modus continues to run this
same command every 30 seconds, looking for SQL and the proper response
before it begins using it as the quarantine.

Any ideas at all short of asking Vircom to please change this behavior :-)
Thanks.
Lewis

Can you see if Modus is actually communicating with the MySQL server? If
so you can analyze the requests made to see if those are causing the
problems.

Hi Lapo,
I am running MySQL ODBC 3.51 Driver DSN and 4.0.14 MySQL. The ODBC
connection tests successfully and is actually the same one I use for POP
Authentication (secondary DSN) successfully.

Also, I used INNODB table type with the same table/index/foreign key
structure as the M-soft quarantine DB. Please let me know of your
progress
if you begin attempting this too.

It won't even begin to work. I wonder what checks Modus makes when first
attempting to connect.
Thanks,
Lewis
