Ok. Sorry for all the messages.
I finally figured out how to edit the value manually to >0 (using Enterprise Manager rather than Query analyzer)
Thanks for all the quick responses.

Don't remove the null option...just set a value of 1 in the Spamcount field.

The funny thing is that I originally tried: Update tblCounter set SpamCount = 100
And I still got a "(0 row(s) affected)" response... I even went into the table and edited the field, removing the NULL option.
Still no go...

Hmm that is odd, only thing I can think of is if the fieldis empty it might act like that but not sure.Trigger on
Try editing the value for spamcount to 1 then see if you can do the update in QA and get it to update it to 2, if so then I would think the trigger will start working.

Hello John,
thanks for the instructions. I just tried implementing them, but I can't get it to work.
I setup the new table (tblCounter) Created a new Field (SpamCount, int, Null) And created thetblMsgCatalog. (If I try to edit the trigger in QueryAnalyzer, I getthe following text to edit:Operations
ALTER TRIGGER [SpamCounter] ON [dbo].[tblMsgCatalog] FOR INSERT AS Update tblCounter set SpamCount = SpamCount + 1
This appears correct to me, however, nothing is happening. I think there may be something wrong with the table itself, as if I simply run:
Update tblCounter set SpamCount = SpamCount + 1
I get a "(0 row(s) affected)" response.
Do you have any idea what I may have done wrong?
Thanks,
Lapo

My initial thought was that it would be simplest to setupmessage isin the SQL database itself, and increment it each time arather thanactuallyquarantined. A simple query could then be run to check the counter, withoutcounting the number of records.
This would also show the total number of messages caught, something to dowhat is currently in the quarantine.
However, I really don't know much about MS SQL, so there may be a better idea. (I also don't know how to accomplish this. Probablyaccurate way towith triggers...)
Thanks, Lapo

I've considered doing this also, but have not had ancount of yourdoit. The SQLDB only stores the quarantine, so a simpleexpiry, as I keepcurrent spam quarantine is:
select count(*) from tblMsgCatalog where msgtype = 2
This counter doesn't change much depending on your7showing how muchperioddays worth, I keep around 100k messages. This should match up withwhatyou see in the console.
It may be more reasonable to parse out the stats logfile over asureof time instead, although I have not looked into it yet. I am nothow rebooting or restarting the services effects these numbers.

I'd like to setup a (live) counter on our website, from the SQLspam has been stopped. However, I'm not sure what the best way to get the data[EMAIL PROTECTED] with thequarantine is.
Any suggestions or examples?
Thanks,
